A documentary by Collette Prince and Tess Miles (School of Journalism and Media Studies, Rhodes University, South Africa)
The Eden is a film that follows the journey of Collette Prince and Tess Miles. They attempt to confront a right wing Afrikaans group, creating a whites only enclave called Die Eden Projek. Jaqui Gradwell is the leader of Die Eden Projek and started his project in Willowmore, Eastern Cape. Grappling with fears of racism and physical danger, Collette and Tess travel to Willowmore to find unexpected truths about the leader of the project. Unlike many stories of this nature, The Eden exposes the tragic irony of living in democratic South Africa and why racism continues to thrive.
