A documentary by Layla Hesseling and Marloes Kamer (Hogeschool Utrecht, Utrecht, The Netherlands)
Shortly after his graduation, military officer Rémon de Bruin (27) went on his first mission in Mali. The life of an officer on mission was completely new to him, but he felt right at home. The patrols and long observations gave him enough time to think about his career, his relationship and his future.
However, when he returned back home, a lot of those elements had turned upside down. How do you deal with these large amounts of changes? And how do you explain what you just experienced to complete outsiders?
